Blog Post #1
Hi Everyone!
I am grateful to say that transitioning to online learning and living at home has not been too challenging for me over the past few weeks. While I do feel like I am staring at my computer screen for almost all of the day, which can make it difficult to focus on my work, I am appreciative of all of the hard work MIT staff has done to accommodate its students to the best of their ability. In quarantine I have been able to spend time with my cat, who has favored my brother since I left for MIT, which I hope to change in the coming months. Over the break I spent a lot more time with my family and I even painted my room, though I am definitely glad to have more structure to my days with classes now. I am glad to have finished the data summary for Module 1, which I feel was incredibly helpful assignment and allowed me to better my scientific communication. However, I did find it difficult to interpret some of the comments made on the data summary since my group received conflicting comments from different staff members. Since many parts of the data summary were submitted as homework and then were revised based on that feedback, it was slightly confusing to then receive different feedback on the complete draft. It was challenging to figure out whether the comments were based on personal preference or whether they were meant to correct something. Overall, I am looking forward to the rest of the semester in 20.109, and I hope everyone is doing well!
