Quarantine, Classes and procrastination
Spring break and an additional week of break totally broke me off from my classes and when we have to attend online zoom lectures I had and am still having trouble with procrastination. Social distancing/quarantining on campus (as an international student with travel restriction) is not posing a big problem since I'm an introvert with innate talent for procrastination. Class readjusted so well that I'm amazed. However, the only problem is attending online classes (when you don't have to get out of bed and go outside) on time when my sleep schedule is so hectic.
I believe that the mini presentation for M1 would have been very helpful for many of us, since the journal club presentation is probably our first scientific presentation, and only now I realize how inexperienced I am when giving presentation.
Also, as a person with bad coding skills, programming on R was a challenge to me as it was a completely new platform, especially when I had to start with DESeq. I believe it would've been more comfortable if we started getting familiar with R since the beginning of the semester.
Reading "Methods" of my classmate was a good experience and instead of criticizing the writer, I learned many things from the way they drafted their "Methods" section.
Special thanks to our instructors for all their support and assistance!
